ACIR conducts workshops for Women Entrepreneurs in the Green Economy!

Women Entrepreneurs in the Green Economy is a series of workshops to be conducted in collaboration between the U.S. Consulate in Hyderabad and the Alliance for Commercialization and Innovation Research (ACIR). The selected women-led startups were from the States of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha working in the green economy like manufacturing bags from natural starch, traditional handloom products with zero waste methods, manufacturer of eco-friendly paint, solar powered and smart system based floating solution for fish and prawn farming, and many more.

The program was a series of 2-day business training workshop that that took place in Warangal and Visakhapatnam to a total of 30 women entrepreneurs which will be followed by an advanced training workshop to the top 20 women entrepreneurs that were selected from the initial 30 participants which will take place in Hyderabad.

Attendees of the workshop were given great insights into the importance of understanding their customer, their target market and taught fundamental skills and tools that startups need to build a business.

The attendees found the workshop very informative, with experienced and successful entrepreneurs sharing their own personal stories of success and failure, such that the attendees could gain invaluable business insights. They learned how to pitch an idea to outside investors and customers and were given practical mentoring on launching and running a sustainable business.

The event was a great success, encouraging women entrepreneurs to tap into their entrepreneurial skills, fostering collaborations and striving for success and creating a greener, more sustainable planet.
